You supply AAA batteries for the LED light (check the box for the exact number). Not included.
01

The build, in short

Overview

The BR0018 pairs cyber industrial styling with real arthropod anatomy, built from 971 precision ABS bricks. It recreates the classic eight-legged body, with segmented movable legs, exposed body gears, a pulsing LED light cabin and a detachable brick-built spider web.

Out of the box it's a static model with hand-linked legs. Later you can add the separately sold RC kit — motor, 2.4G remote and rechargeable battery — to convert it into a remote-controlled crawler. Comes with a branded base and engraved metal nameplate. Built for adult builders, mechanical fans and STEM learners aged 14+.

Eight legs, one gear

Every one of the eight legs is a multi-joint limb tied into the internal gear train. Turn the main rear gear by hand and all eight move together, echoing a real spider's crawling gait. The gear layout stays exposed, so you can see exactly how one input drives eight-point coordinated motion.

Light & optional motion

Pulsing LED light

The abdomen holds an independent light cabin with a built-in intermittent LED. With your own batteries fitted, the purple light pulses on and off for a sci-fi creature glow. A transparent shell covers it, so the light and the surrounding pipework show through together.

Optional RC crawling upgrade (sold separately)

The standard model is static with manual movable joints only. The RC crawling function needs the separately sold kit — an L drive motor, a 2.4G wireless remote and a rechargeable battery pack. Fit it following the wiring instructions and the spider crawls under remote control, with the legs linked and the gears turning together.

Design & accessories

Cyberpunk detail & spider web

Matte black leads, set against metallic silver and electro-purple trim, with cyber-line decals for a futuristic finish. A full set of white brick-built spider web pieces comes in the box for scene-setting your display. Pipework, mechanical ridges and joint serrations are finely sculpted for a heavy industrial texture.

Materials & craftsmanship

Hard bricks are high-strength injection ABS with a firm clutch that resists loosening over repeated builds. Transparent shells use scratch-resistant, high-clarity PC to show the gears and light inside. Gears are precision-moulded to mesh tightly and turn without jamming. The thickened ABS display stand holds the spider steady for long-term shelf display.

What you'll learn (STEM)

Building it covers multi-gear linkage, crank transmission and multi-joint bionic limb motion. The process exercises spatial planning, dexterity and structural reasoning — a solid physical teaching aid for understanding bionic design and gear-drive logic.

Safety & care

Small parts. Contains small bricks — choking hazard. Age 14+. Keep small parts away from children under 3. Don't force the gears or leg joints. Build strictly by the manual.

Batteries. The LED light uses AAA batteries (not included). Don't mix old and new. Remove them for long-term storage to avoid leakage and circuit damage.

RC upgrade. The standard spider has no motor, remote or rechargeable battery. Add motion only with the official RC kit, and follow the wiring steps carefully to avoid a short circuit.
