The BR0113 lantern fish fuses retro steampunk machinery with deep-sea anglerfish anatomy. There is no closed shell — every gear train, telescoping pipe and connecting rod stays exposed, so the strange charm of a deep-sea predator meets the texture of heavy vintage machinery.

Out of the box it is a static, hand-movable model with a built-in LED lure. Motorised motion and the misting mouth are optional upgrades that need the separately sold dynamic kit. Built for adult builders, steampunk collectors, marine-life fans and STEM learners aged 14 and up.

Turn the internal gears by hand to pose the fish in lifelike swimming positions:

• Jaws open and close as you twist the drive gear
• Pectoral, tail and dorsal fins swing together through a linked gear set
• The flexible lure tentacle bends freely to aim the light

Because nothing is hidden, you can watch the gears mesh, the crank link and the multi-joint transmission work — the mechanism is part of the display.

An LED sits inside the signature lure tentacle. Once you add your own batteries, it casts a soft warm glow — the same predatory beacon a real anglerfish uses in the dark. Bend the flexible arm to suspend the light wherever the pose needs it, for a genuine deep-sea hunting mood.

Two advanced effects rely on the separately sold dynamic pack — they are not part of the main set:

• Motorised full-body motion: motors drive the fins and jaws through automatic, repeating cycles that mimic a fish swimming
• Misting mouth: an ultrasonic atomizer sends a plume of white mist from the jaws for a sci-fi deep-sea effect

Use only clean water in the atomizer — no oils, perfume or tap water with sediment — and keep water away from the gears and light module.

Retro burgundy leads the palette, set against bronze metallic accents and matte-silver fangs. Flexible metal-look pipes, exposed bearing gears, bolt details and industrial-cyber print run throughout. The sharp teeth, layered gill mechanics and segmented fin bones keep the eerie anglerfish silhouette while giving it a full industrial rework.

Main bricks are high-toughness injection ABS with a firm, consistent clutch that holds up to repeated rebuilds and joint movement. The LED shade uses high-clarity, scratch-resistant PC for even light. Flexible tubes are wear-resistant soft plastic that bends long-term without cracking. Drive gears are precision-moulded to mesh tightly and turn smoothly without jamming.

A thickened black ABS stand with an engraved model nameplate holds the fish in a floating, suspended pose, with adjustable height and angle. Movable joints use reinforced anti-loosening bricks so poses stay put after frequent handling. The whole model splits into modular sub-builds, keeping the assembly steps clear and orderly.

The build walks through multi-stage gear linkage, flexible transmission, bionic multi-joint motion and a simple lighting circuit. Assembling by hand exercises spatial planning, dexterity and structural logic — a hands-on way to explore bionic machinery and mechanical transmission alongside a bit of marine-biology context.

Small parts & sharp pieces. Contains small bricks, tiny gears and sharp fang-shaped parts — choking and scratch risk. Age 14+. Keep small parts away from children under 3. Don't force the flexible pipes or gear joints. Build strictly by the manual.

Lighting. The LED lure needs user-supplied batteries. Don't mix battery types, and remove them for long-term storage to avoid leakage and corrosion. Don't pry open the sealed LED compartment.

Dynamic kit. The standard model has no motors, wiring or atomizer. Add motion and mist only with the official dynamic pack — non-official electronics can short and damage the model. In the atomizer use clean water only, and keep water out of the gear and light areas.
