Tabletop American Football Building Blocks

A stationary target gets boring in about four attempts. Moving uprights turn every kick into a timing problem, and that's the difference between a model of a stadium and a game you keep coming back to.

• The goalposts move — the yellow uprights slide left and right across the end zone. You have to read the rhythm and release into the gap.
• Spring launch buttons — press and the ball goes. Mechanical throw, no power involved in the shot itself.
• Twin scoring dials — one per player, mounted on the side of the stadium. Turn yours when it's good.
• Stadium lighting — twist-controlled LED bricks you can switch on and off around the field.
• Sound — crowd and game audio fires as you play.
• Full field build — yard markings, fencing, goalposts and end zones, all brick-built.

1. Set a ball into the launch position in front of you.
2. Watch the uprights. They're tracking across the whole time.
3. Press firmly when the gap lines up — firm, not violent. The spring does the work.
4. Good kick? Turn your dial forward one.
5. Alternate attempts. Highest score after an agreed number of rounds takes it.

The twin dials are built for head-to-head, but a bigger group can rotate through and reset between rounds. Solo, it becomes a practice range — how many can you put through in ten attempts is a number that's genuinely hard to improve on.

This is the biggest set we make

Assembled, the stadium is 22.8 inches wide, 13.2 inches deep and 14.2 inches tall with the goalposts up — wider than most laptops and tall enough that a low shelf won't take it. It's also the heaviest at 8.4 lb boxed. Measure the surface before you order, and plan on it living out in the open.

Batteries aren't included

You'll need 6 × AAA. Loose batteries can't travel by international air freight, so no set ships with them — any standard alkaline AAA will do.

You assemble the electronics yourself

The LED bricks, speaker and wiring arrive as individual parts, not a sealed module. Fitting them is part of the build, and the printed manual marks every connection point.

Small parts

The set includes small brick footballs and fine mechanical pieces. Rated 14+ and not suitable for young children.

Press, don't slam

The launch buttons sit on brick-built spring mechanisms. Firm pressure is what they're designed for; hammering them will eventually cost you a gear. Worth saying out loud to anyone competitive who gets a turn.

2,272 pieces, most of them doing a job

This is a bigger and more mechanical build than a display model, because almost all of it has to work at the end. The slide rail carrying the uprights, the spring launchers, the ratchets under the scoring dials — every one is brick-built, and you test them as you go rather than finding a problem on the last page.

Bricks and fit

All 2,272 pieces are molded in ABS to a tight clutch tolerance. That matters more on a game than a shelf piece — this gets pressed, knocked and argued over, so the joints have to hold through repeated play. Everything still comes apart cleanly if you want to rebuild.

Compatibility

Planning modifications?

If you intend to change the wiring or run it on a different battery type, email us first and we'll confirm whether the design supports it.

Dust with a soft dry cloth and keep liquid away from the LED and speaker sections entirely. Press the launch buttons rather than slamming them — the springs and the gearing underneath will last far longer for it. Keep the stadium out of prolonged direct sunlight so the field colors hold, and collect the balls off the floor before someone stands on one.

Does it work without batteries?

Partly. The spring launchers and the scoring dials are purely mechanical, so you can shoot and keep score with no power at all. The goalposts, however, are motor-driven — without batteries they sit still, which turns a timing game into target practice. You'll want the six AAAs in for the real thing.

How much space does it need?

About 23 inches wide, 13 inches deep, standing 14 inches tall with the uprights. It's the largest set we make — worth measuring your surface and your shelf clearance before ordering.

Why aren't batteries included?

Loose batteries can't be sent by international air freight. Standard alkaline AAA from any supermarket will do.

Can more than two people play?

The console has two dials, so head-to-head is what it's built for. With a bigger group, take turns and reset the dials between rounds.

Do I have to wire the electronics myself?

Yes. The LED bricks, speaker and wiring come as separate parts and are fitted during the build. The printed manual marks each connection point step by step, so no prior experience is needed.

How long does the build take?

At 2,272 pieces it's a substantial project — expect to spread it over more than one sitting. Much of that time goes into the working mechanisms rather than the outer stadium.

How does it compare with the other sports sets?

Three versions of the same idea, each with a different problem to solve. The basketball arcade gives you one launcher and a hoop that slides. The soccer stadium gives you four kick positions and a keeper defending the goal. This one is the largest of the three, and the target is a pair of uprights tracking across the end zone — the tightest window of the set.

Is it a good gift?

It's one of the easiest sets to give, because the person opening it gets two things — a build to sit down with, and something the whole room will want a turn on afterwards. It lands especially well through football season, and on any desk that needs a distraction.
